NOVEXPANSTM HFC 245fa is 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorpropaan dat wordt gebruikt als blaasmiddel voor de expansie van harde polyurethaanschuimen.
Het is niet brandbaar en onschadelijk voor de ozonlaag.
Met zijn lage warmtecoëfficiënt bij lage temperaturen is het bijzonder geschikt voor de productie van isolatieschuim in de koelindustrie.
